Ancient and very noble family of the Kingdom of Naples, flourished in the Calabrian territory, known as Piperno or Piperni, of clear and ancestral virtue, spread over the centuries in various regions of Italy. Originally from old Miletus, this family is remembered as one of the wealthiest of the ancient Norman town so much so that its noble palace, destroyed by the fatal earthquake of 1783, was located in front of the bishop's building. This mournful event, which in less than two minutes razed most of the buildings to the ground and forced the Miletesi to rebuild their city two kilometers away, is dramatically narrated by a member of the family, the noble Ignazio P. in his "Una unpublished memory on the ancient city of Miletus "(1744).
