Los de este apellido son hijosdalgo originarios de Vizcaya, de donde pasaron a Aragón, Cataluña y Valencia. En Aragón enlazaron con la familia Espiau. En Cataluña, según J. R. Vila, trajeron: De oro, con cinco piquetas de azur con los mangos de gules y puestas en sotuer. Un sello de Pere P., que data del año 1565, contiene este blasón: De oro, con un pino de sinople arrancado. Hay en España distintas casas Piquer. Desde muy remotos siglos fué conocida y muy considerada. Los historiadores hacen notar acertadamente que no todos los linajes de este apellido tienen un origen común. Lo encontramos en Vizcaya. Las armas más antiguas son las señaladas en: EL SOLAR CATALAN VALENCIANO Y BALEAR Tomo III. Los de Vizcaya traen: De oro, con cinco piquetas de azur con los mangos de gules y puestas en sotuer. Otros traen: En plata, un león, rampante, de gules, arrimado a una columna de azur. Bordura de gules, con ocho aspas, de oro.
