Fra gli intervenuti di pace con i Pisani del 1188 appare un Piuma d'Oro: si tratta forse di un soprannome, giacché secondo testimonianze attendibili la fam. venne a Genova da Como nel sec. XIV. Il notaro Muzio, vivente nel 1600, appassionato ricercatore di memorie patrie ed amico dei membri di tale fam., radunò numerosissime copie di atti notarili che li riguardano, per la durata di quattro secoli dal XIV al XVII. Dalla sua raccolta si rileva che nel 1315 Giacomo fa procura al fratello Tomaso. Lo stesso notaro ricorda in atto del 1465 Giacomo. Nel 1467 appare ancora Leonus magister antelami, loco della Chiuma. Comincia nel 1479 la serie dei "seateri", che continua con Gottardo nel 1480 e con Bartolomeo, padre di Mariola, Pellegrina, Mariettina, Brigidina, Geronimo e Pietro. Le due arti del costruttore edile - ricordare i maestri Comacini, - e del setaiolo erano forse ricordo del luogo d'origine.
