Antica ed assai nobile famiglia, le cui prime notizie risalgono all'inizio del '500, nella quale epoca troviamo diversi membri nominati fra i vicari di Castelcorno. La famiglia si stabilì in Rovereto, ove molti furono podestà. Nel 1652, al dì 24 luglio, i Pizzini ebbero la nobiltà del S.R.I. col predicato di Thuerberg. Bartolomeo venne creato conte palatino con diploma del 27 agosto 1670 e coppiere dell'Elettore di Baviera, di cui fu poeta aulico. Il principe Eugenio di Savoia, per intercessione di Giulio medico di Corte e professore all'Università di Praga desistette dal proposito di distruggere Rovereto, cui voleva infliggere tale castigo per l'uccisione avvenuta in questa città di un suo governatore. Giovanni Giulio venne creato barone del S.R.I. e cavaliere vessillifero con diploma 20 giugno 1754. Il titolo di barone del S.R.I., con trasmissibilità di ambo i sessi, venne riconosciuto assieme al predicato di Thuerberg, tradotto in delle Porte, con

D'argento all'aquila di nero, coronata ed armata d'oro, linguata di rosso afferrante cogli artigli due garofani di giardino di rosso gambuti e fogliati di verde, e caricata in cuore da una cometa d'oro posta in palo. Svolazzi: a destra d'oro e di nero; a sinistra d'argento e di rosso. Cimiero: A destra un'aquila di nero coronata e rivolta; a sinistra un leone di rosso con la coda biforcata abbrancante la cometa d'oro. Sostegni: Due leopardi al naturale controrampanti.
