Questa famiglia di P. possedeva negli antichi tempi molti Castelli, e vastissimi tratti di paese, forgendo da un medesimo stipite, che gli antichi, e primi Porcaresi facendo molte consorterie col numero di molte famiglie distinte, con cognomi diversi per confermare l'antica nobiltà nel governo della Repubblica di Lucca per non ammettere (se era possibile) altre famiglie nuove a quel governo, conformesi costumava da molte Città, facendo d'una famiglia nobile più famiglie, e con cognomi, & arme diverse, le quali col fare le loro genealogie speriamo di rivenirne molte.
