Antichissima famiglia trevigiana, benché originaria d'Istria, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia e del mondo. Tradizione vuole che essa abbia tratto il proprio nome dalla sua città natale e di cui ebbe antico possesso: Pola. Un Nasso, insieme ai fratelli Pietro e Nicolò, vuolsi sia stato feudatario del castella di Pola, sul calare del XIII secolo. Ed infatti, nel dispiegarsi degli anni, questa famiglia fu conosciuta come Pola, Dapola e, appunto, Polese o Polesi. In ogni modo, numerosi personaggi con questo antico cognome sono presenti in archivi e contratti di compravendita sin dal XV secolo, dai quali appare che erano di condizione agiata e nobile. Inoltre sin dal 1401, una famiglia Pola o Polese fu ascritta al Consiglio nobile di Treviso; la stessa fu confermata nella sua avita nobiltà con Sovrana Risoluzione 1 agosto 1819, in persona di: Antonio, del fu Paolo,

Trinciato di rosso e d'argento, nel 2° un castello del primo torricellato di tre.

Lo stemma di questa casata risulta purtroppo ignoto o perso negli Armoriali e nei libri di araldica. Una sua ricostruzione è stata però resa possibile dalla presenza di frammentarie informazioni d'archivio e dal ricorso alle consuete congetture araldiche.
