Famille piémontaise ancienne et très noble, de vertu claire et ancestrale, avec résidence à Asti, répartie au cours des siècles dans diverses régions d'Italie, avec des établissements notables dans les Marches. La noblesse évidente de la famille est attestée par la présence et son blason dans l'ouvrage très précieux d'Antonio Manno "Il Patriziato Subalpino", volumes I et II, Florence, 1895-1906.
