Antigua e ilustre familia del norte de Italia, conocida como Policreti o Policretti, originaria de Treviso. Posteriormente, la familia se instaló en Motta di Livenza, para luego llegar, en la segunda mitad del siglo XVI, a Pordenone. Allí fue inscrita en el ayuntamiento noble en la persona de Antonio, del difunto Gio Maria della Motta. No podemos precisar el momento del registro, en todo caso no después de 1560, año en el que encontramos a los hermanos Alessandro y Gio Maria, del difunto Antonio, ya miembros del noble consejo. Los hijos de Antonio, Alessandro y Gio Maria, iniciaron dos líneas distintas. El primero al de Ornedo, el segundo al de Castel d'Aviano. La familia tenía varios temas dignos de mención. El padre sirvió a Giuseppe, desde finales de Francesco, Treviso, que vive en el siglo XVI, era un buen poeta ascético. Antonio, del difunto Gio.María, construyó la iglesia de Ornedo.
