Provano genealogicamente la loro discendenza da Agostino padre di Giovanni riportato nelle "Tavole Genealogiche delle Famiglie Nobili Alessandrine e Monferrine" di F. Guasco alla genealogia della Famiglia dei Conti F. di Alessandria. Sono note le antichissime origini della Casata. Un ramo cospicuo di questa stirpe originaria di Castelleone in provincia di Cremona, si stanziò a Milano ed a Crema e fu ascritta alla nobiltà di queste città fin dal 1519. Ma ancor più ragguardevole è la diramazione di Alessandria decorata del titolo di Conte di Spinetta e di Marengo. Risulta infatti che la linea di Francesco, vivente nel 1500, giunge al predetto Agostino con Benedetto, Francesco, Benedetto, Consigliere di Solero nel 1618, che sposò Laura Maciliani nel 1574 dalla quale ebbe il figlio Agostino vivente negli anni 1612-1649.
