Molti di questa nobile famiglia sostennero le principali cariche in patria, da cui dovettero emigrare nel XVII secolo perchè di religione protestante i tre figli del capitano Paride P. ed Alfonso figlio di Marcantonio, il quale recatosi a militare in Olanda, vi prese servizio sotto il principe Enrico-Federico di Orange e fu governatore del forte di S. Anna. Giovan-Vincenzo P. ambasciatore del Comune di Dronero al Re di Francia per impetrarne il risarcimento dei danni arrecati alla città dall'esercito francese. Il di lui padre Francesco era stato fra i delegati del Comune a stipulare l'atto del 13 Mag. 1503 col March. Lodovico II. Orazio Polloto, cognato di quelli che divennero conti di Zumaglia e di Rigras, fece acquisto del feudo di Rigaud nel contado di Nizza con titolo comitale il 29 Gen. 1724.
