Ancient family originally from Dronero. Captain Paride belonged to it, who handed over the coat of arms in 1614. From him was born Orazio, who had numerous offspring, for which he obtained the immunity of 12 children on 27 November 1634. The eldest son Paride gave rise to the count line of Zumaglia, the second son Gaspare to the count line of Rigrasso, and the fourth son Francesco to the count line of Rigaud; the latter now extinct. The present branch ascended to the noble dignity with Gaspare son of Captain Paride Orazio, son of the aforementioned Gaspare, who was enfeoffed by the farmhouses of Strepe, Sprina and Rigrasso; to be called Rigrasso on November 28, 1735 and invested with the comital title on the 29th of the same month.
