Este apellido catalán tuvo casas en las ciudades de Barcelona y Tarrasa. De la casa de Barcelona fueron Francisco de P. y Brú y su esposa, doña Teresa de Monjo y Gravalosa, padres de Juan de P. y Monjo, que casó con doña Catalina de Camps y Prats, y procrearon a Ramón de P. y Camps, regidor perpetuo de Barcelona, que contrajo matrimonio con doña Ignacia de Alós Fontaner (hija de Juan de Alós Rius y de doña Francisca de Montaner), naciendo de esa unión Antonio de P. y de Alós, bautizado en la iglesia del Pino, de Barcelona, el 26 de febrero de 1744, y Ramón de P. y de Alós, bautizado en la misma iglesia el 8 de mayo de 1748. Falleció el 2 de noviembre de 1809. Ambos hermanos ingresaron en la Orden de San Juan, en el Gran Priorato de Cataluña, en el año de 1758.
