Antigua y muy noble familia Asti, de clara y ancestral virtud, que se ha extendido a lo largo de los siglos en varias regiones de Italia. La familia disfrutó de los títulos de Condes de Scarnafigi y marqueses de Mioglia, feudos comprados por Antonio, de Moschetto en 1383, y señores de Lombriasco, Castellerò y Casalgnasco. Amedeo, del fallecido Nicolao, patricio de Asti, fue primero profesor de derecho en la oficina de Turín, consejero de estado y senador en el Senado de Asti, luego, en Turín, prefecto de Oltrepò, presidente del campo de Asti y marquesado de Ceva, en 1576, y auditor general de la milicia. En 1577 fue nombrado primer presidente del Magistrado de la Cámara para Piamonte y, más tarde, primer presidente del Senado en Turín.
