Antica ed assai nobile famiglia di Asti, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. La famiglia ha goduto dei titoli di Conti di Scarnafigi e marchesi di Mioglia, feudi acquistati da Antonio, di Moschetto nel 1383, e signori di Lombriasco, Castellerò e Casalgnasco. Amedeo, del fu Nicolao, patrizio astese, fu da prima professor di leggi nello studio torinese, consigliere di stato e senatore nel Senato di Asti, poi, a Torino, prefetto di Oltrepò, presidente del contado d'Asti e marchesato di Ceva, nel 1576, ed uditore generale della milizia. Nel 1577 fu nominato primo presidente del Magistrato della Camera per il Piemonte, e, più tardi, primo presidente del Senato in Torino. Nel 1578 ottenne il feudo di Casalgrosso, con diritto di primogenitura. Altro ramo. Nobile famiglia piemontese fregiata del titolo di Conti di Pino. Altro ramo. Famiglia di Ferrara passata a risiedere in Venezia
