Hanno origine antichissima nella provincia di Bergamo e si trapiantarono in Brescia nella seconda metà del secolo XVI. Tra le schede di un erudito bergamasco, il Mozzi, si trovano menzionati un Adamo de Lemine nel 1125, un Alberto nel 1148, un Maresco nel 1171, un Guglielmo nel 1220, a tacere di molti altri dei quali non sarebbe difficile tracciare una regolare serie genealogica. Da questo ceppo lombardo è supposizione non azzardata che abbiano a discendere anche le famiglie dello stesso nome che vissero nel Veneto e delle quali una assurse, col patriziato, alla gloria doganale. Sulla scorta delle preziose schede del Mozzi e di documenti esistenti nell'Archivio notarile di Bergamo, un membro di questa famiglia, studioso di grande valore, il Dott. Pietro, raccolse gran copia di note, delle quali ampiamente valendoci per la compilazione del presente cenno, e poté sicuramente stabilire una ininterrotta e rigorosa genealogia. Il capostipite
