Très illustre maison de la Bretagne, d'une haute antiquité, dont les premiers auteurs connus sont: Mathieu, croisé en 1248 (Chartes latines de 1191 à 1249 relatives aux croisés, provenant du cabinet Courtois). Henri sénéchal de Goëllo en 1263; Rolland, homme d'armes au siège de Pouancé en 1431, marié à Marguerite de Trélèver; Jean seigneur de la Roche-Jagu tué à la bataille de Saint-Aubin du Cormier en 1488. La branche aînée fondue, dans d'Acigné, d'où la châtellenie de la Roche-Jagu est passée par alliance aux ducs de Richelieu qui la vendirent en 1773 aux Gonidec de Traissan. Autre branche: Olivier, abbé de Saint-Jacut, mort en 1402; Guillaume, vivant en 1479, épouse Jeanne Ladvocat, dont Jean, marié en 1496 à Marguerite Rouxel; un page du Roi en 1729; un volontaire blessé au combat de Saint-Cast en 1758; un lieutenant des maréchaux de France à Lamballe en 1781.
