Très illustre maison de la Bretagne, d'une haute antiquité, dont les premiers auteurs connus sont: Jean, vivant en 1400, épouse Jeanne le Bouteiller; des présidents aux comptes et des conseillers au parlement depuis 1651; un maire de Nantes en 1657; un chevalier de Malte en 1750; un abbé de Beaulieu en 1755; un volontaire au combat de Saint-Cast en 1758; un président de la noblesse aux Etats de Saint-Brieuc en 1768: une fille à Saint-Cyr en 1791; une abbesse de Lestré au diocèse d'Evreux en 1786. La branche aînée fondue dès le XVème siècle dans Plouër, puis la Moussaye et Gouyon; la branche de la Villerévault, fondue en 1791 dans Penfentenyo. Les seigneurs des Sauldrays, paroisse de Ploubalay, des Dondelais et de la Croix, déboutés à la réformation de 1671.
