Très illustre maison de la Bretagne, d'une haute antiquité, dont les premiers auteurs connus sont: Guillaume, en plaide pour sa noblesse avec les paroissiens de Pleurtuit en 1513, épouse Guyonne Ladvocat; Jean, vaillant capitaine de Corsaires, fils de Jacques et de Perrine Jonchée, reçut en 1608, pour prix de ses faits d'armes, un portrait d'Henri IV, enrichi de diamants; Alain, aussi capitaine de corsaires, émule de du Guay-Trouin, reçut deux épées d'honneur de Louis XIV; Michel, sénéchal de Saint-Malo, anobli en 1624, épouse Servanne Cheville, dont: Nicolas, conseiller au parlement en 1636, marié à Julienne du Guesclin; Marie, mariée à Joachim des Cartes; autre Michel, conseiller au parlement en 1662; un secrétaire du Roi en 1712; un mestre de camp de cavalerie en 1730 et un avocat-général en 1770.
