Bertolotto, capostipite, in Volvera, ove la sua famiglia, verso il 1300, già contava sei capi, comprò beni feudali nel 1354. Perrottino, suo figlio nel 1414 possedeva parte del castello di Volvera. Eustachio, notajo in Volvera nel 1334 trasferivasi in Pinerolo nel 1493. Gianfrancesco, suo figlio, celebre giureconsulto, fu professore di leggi in Torino, indi presidente della Camera ducale, poi presidente del senato nella prima metà del XVI secolo e finalmente cancelliere di Savoja. Girolamo fu primo presidente in Piemonte sotto il dominio di Francia, poi siniscalco del marchesato di Saluzzo. Gaspare del senatore Giannangelo fu ambasciatore straordinario in Francia, governatore di Torino e cavaliere della SS. Annunziata nel 1620. Giuseppe-Filippo Vescovo di Saluzzo nel XVIII secolo.
