Ancient and very noble Veronese family, whose members exercised the function of notary, spread over the centuries in various regions of Italy. According to what is handed down to us, it would be of the same agnation as the noble Lombard family of the same name, ascribed since long ago to the Milanese aristocracy. In any case, of the lineage in Verona there is news as ascribed to the sample of the esteem since 1409, in the person of Enricus notarius. Indeed, in 1297, a Marchesino de Portalupi was among the advisors of Ezzelino and he is recognized as progenitor. Since 1287, the family was in possession of a prediale fief in Isolalta, by investiture Scaligera. This possession, together with other assets, was from the family transferred to the Fisco Veneto, who erected it in a noble county, investing it in the family with a Senate Decree of 25 February
