Famiglia cagliaritana di origine spagnola le cui notizie risalgono al secolo XVI. Apparteneva alla borghesia ed era molto agiata, i suoi membri si occupavano del commercio e dell'amministrazione del sale. Nel 1579 un Cristoforo comprò dai Clemente la baronia di Posada. I Portugues parteciparono allo stamento militare a partire dal parlamento del duca di Gandia nel 1613 ininiterrottamente fino al 1688. Nel 1648, un Francesco, ottenne il cavalierato ereditario e la nobiltà; egli nel 1646 aveva venduto la baronia di Posada ai Masones prese parte alla congiura contro il vicerè Camarassa. Suo nipote Agostino, alla fine del secolo, tentò invano di riavere il feudo. Della famiglia non si hanno più notizie dalla prima metà del secolo XVIII.
