Believed by some authors to be originally from Pisa, it passed to the Neapolitan area in the XIII century. Patrician of Salerno in the squares of Campo and Portaretese and patrician of Lucera. He gave the Church a pope: Urban VI (13789) born Bartolomeo, son of Nicolò and Margherita Brancaccio. They were received, for justice, in the SMO of Malta in 1578 as fourth of the Strambrone family; and the Prignano di Sanseverinos in 1598 as the fourth of the Ruggi family; and again those of Salerno in 1730 as a quarter of the commendatore Gennaro Salerno, having made proof of it by Roberto first jamb in 1485. It was entered in the Register of Closed Squares. The presence of the motto in the documented bibliography of the family confirms the ancestral nobility of the family. In fact, the origin of the motto dates back to about the fourteenth century
