Considérée par certains auteurs comme originaire de Pise, elle passa au domaine napolitain au XIIIe siècle. Patricien de Salerne sur les places de Campo et Portaretese et patricien de Lucera. Il donna à l'Église un pape : Urbain VI (13789) né Bartolomeo, fils de Nicolò et Margherita Brancaccio. Ils furent reçus, pour justice, dans la SMO de Malte en 1578 comme quatrième de la famille Strambrone ; et le Prignano di Sanseverinos en 1598 en tant que quatrième de la famille Ruggi; et encore ceux de Salerne en 1730 en tant que quart du commendatore Gennaro Salerno, après en avoir fait la preuve par Roberto premier jambage en 1485. Il a été inscrit au Registre des Places Fermées. La présence de la devise dans la bibliographie documentée de la famille confirme la noblesse ancestrale de la famille.
