Ancient and powerful Lambertazza family, who took part in all the factions that, in the thirteenth century, afflicted the city of Bologna; city to which he gave several elders from 1249 to 1359. Some of this family had to be exiled to Romagna, and Uguccione di Bartolomeo Principi, in 1298, from the Bolognese Ghibellines, escaped congregated in general meeting in Imola, was elected mayor and prosecutor, in order to settle the enmities between the Municipality of Bologna and the aforementioned escapes. There has been no news of this family since 1359. However, we know that it turns out to be the original branch of the Dal Medico family. The coat of arms of the Principi family is unknown in the armorial, however, on the basis of some heraldic conjectures, it has been reconstructed and emblazoned as follows: From the blue to the silver lion surmounted by three badly ordered gold stars. We are not sure that it is the same as the original but, at the moment, we have no better guess.
