A genealogia documentada dessa família, autenticada pelo Conselho Heráldico, remonta a Giovanni Prinetti, membro do Conselho da Riviera d'Orta e cônsul de Maisino em 1492, de onde descende Nicolao, também cônsul de Miasino, que morreu sem filhos em 1573 , instituiu seu herdeiro Giulio, de Domenico Castelletti, da nobre família patrícia milanesa (nomeada em 1277 no número de série de bronze de Visconti), que assumiu a família enquanto mantinha o brasão ancestral. Os Prinetti se mudaram para Milão no início do século XVIII. Giulio, de Inácio, de seu casamento com a nobre Giovanna Ciani, teve quatro filhos: Inácio (n. 1814, dez. 1867), comandante mauritano, senador do Reino, governador de Novara, desde 1859, que no mesmo ano se casou com Anna Sala Esengrini, que lhe deu Giovanni Emanuele, n. em Milão, 8 de novembro 1859, enviado extraordinário e ministro plenipotenciário honorário oficial das Maurícias, que com RD de motu proprio de

Di rosso al castello torricellato di due pezzi aperto del campo, accompagnato da tre gigli, due ai lati e uno in punta, il tutto d'oro, e sostenente un uccello detto "bernacla" d'argento.
