Questa antica famiglia di Monsovito nelle Marche, veramente porta il cognome Procaccini-Ricci e ciò perché Luigi Procaccini nel secolo XVIII sposò Giovanna nobile Ricci, per il quale matrimonio Ascanio Ricci, fratello di detta Giovanna ed ultimo di sua famiglia, con suo testamento del 1809 dispose che Vito Procaccini, figlio dei suddetti e tutti i suoi discendenti aggiungessero il cognome Ricci e ne inquartassero lo stemma. Della famiglia Procaccini si ha memoria fin dal secolo XVI e si ricorda un Pandolfo, che fu principale del suo paese e ne ricoperse le prime cariche. Candido, che fu più volte priore e capitano della sua, terra, fu ammesso con tutta le sua discendenza nel 1786 alla Nobiltà di Corinaldo. Ma chi illustrò più di tutti questa famiglia fu Vito, il primo che assunse il doppio cognome Procaccini-Ricci. Nacque il 30 genn. 1765 da Luigi e Giovanni Ricci e morì nel 1844; fu illustre
