Originaria di Firenze, passata in Sicilia nella seconda metà del secolo XVI. In Simone ottenne a 12 dicembre 1436 il titolo di regio cavaliere e la conferma delle armi gentilizie; un Diego, figlio di Lorenzo, fu giudice della corte straticoziale di Messina 1655, delle appellazioni 1658, del tribunale della G.Corte del Regno dal 1665 al 1669, maestro razionale giurisperito del tribunale del R. Patrimonio 1681, primo barone di S.Teodoro in sua famiglia per investitura 9 agosto 1683, baronia che venne innalzata in principato con privilegio 19 gennaio 17 marzo 1687; un Letterio De Spucches fu l'ultimo investito del principato e della terra di S. Teodoro a 30 aprile 1801 e, per successione alla famiglia Cirino, ebbe l'investitura della baronia di S. Basilio a 20 novembre 1801; titoli che oggi sono stati riconosciuti a casa De Gregorio. Un Candeloro e un Gaspare figli di Lorenzo erano iscritti nella mastra nobile
