Antica ed assai nobile famiglia di Bruges, capoluogo delle Fiandre Occidentali, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni del Mondo. La chiara nobiltà della famiglia risulta confermata dalla sua presenza nella pregevole opera del genealogista ed araldista olandese J.B. Rietstap "L'Armorial General". Secondo quanto viene tramandato, questa illustre famiglia ricevette fregio di nobiltà con lettere patenti del 17 ottobre 1755. Henri, magistrato di Francia, morto a Bruges il 24 ottobre 1704, sposò la nobildonna Marie de Vooght, la quale morì il 24 dicembre 1711, da cui ebbe: 2)Marie, nata a Bruges il 14 giugno 1658, 2)Jacque, nato a Bruges il 7 marzo 1660, 3)Jeanne, nata a Bruges il 16 agosto 1661, 4)Henri-Francois, di cui si dirà poi, 5)Marie, nata a Bruges il 25 dicembre 1665, 6)Helene, nata a Bruges il 6 marzo 1667.
