Antica ed assai illustre famiglia fiorentina, come ben riferisce il Malaspini nella sua "Istoria Fiorentina" al capitolo 57, la quale fu portata, nell'anno 1500, in Messina, da "il magnifico" Cesare, e propagatasi, primieramente, in S. Lucia del Mela e, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. Nella Mastra Nobile del Mollica sono annotati Giovanni e Giuseppe, negli anni 1587, 1596 e 1604; nella Mastra Nobile di Santa Lucia del 1755 sono, invece, iscritti: Antonino Pulejo; Giovanni Pulejo; Antonino Pulejo; Giovanni Pulejo; Dottore D. Giuseppe Pulejo; D. Francesco Pulejo; D. Pasquale Pulejo; D. Silvestro Pulejo; D. Tommaso Pulejo; nella Mastra Nobile di S. Lucia, del 1° maggio 1811, infine, risultano iscritti: D. Antonino Pulejo; D. Cesario Pulejo; D. Sebastiano Pulejo; D. Silvestro Pulejo; D. Simone Pulejo; D. Tommaso Pulejo. Ma, d'altronde, tal casato, in ogni epoca, sempre riuscì a distinguersi, grazie agli elevati personaggi, a cui diede i natali. Antonio
