Apellido de origen andaluz. De la villa de su nombre, partido judicial de Cazorla, en la provincia de Jaén, desde donde se extendió por toda la Península, pasando una rama a Canarias. Juan de Molina Q., hijo menor de Francisco de Q. y de Doña Guiomar de Molina, nació en Ubeda, solar de sus antepasados y pasó a Flandes en lo más florido de la edad, donde se empleó al servicio del Emperados Carlos V, a las órdenes de su hermano mayor Luis de Q. Contrajo matrimonio en Amberes con Madame Cornelia de Brujas, progenitores de los Marqueses de la Rambla, Vizcondes de Cabra, del Santo Cristo y de otras familias ilustres de España. Juan de Molina Q., desciende directamente de Alonso de Q., Alcaide del castillo de Arenas, en Jaén; se estableció en Canarias con su esposa el año 1568, fundando una Casa opulenta, que no sujetaron a Mayorazgo,
