Antigua y noble familia de Sicilia. El comentarista GB de Crollalanza informa el blasón de esta familia en los volúmenes de su histórico diccionario blasón de las nobles y notables familias italianas. De cuántas familias ilustres de la nobleza de sangre antigua y acciones militares han florecido en España, y en el Reino de Sicilia, no se cuida en segundo lugar a esta familia. Arma: Plata, con dos llaves azules, pasada por la cruz de S. Andrea, acompañada de cuatro lirios de la misma, colocada dos en la cabeza y dos en la punta, unidas por cuatro rosas rojas colocadas en el poste; con el borde rojo, cargado con ocho cruces doradas de San Andrés. Pero antes de eso, que informemos todas las cosas que los cronistas de España han escrito sobre ella y los otros autores antiguos, se insertará una descripción antigua sobre la misma familia encontrada entre los escritores. Los Minutoli, Inveges, Mugnos y otros recogidos por Palizzolo Gravina en su "Il Blasone in Sicilia, o colección heráldica, impresa en Palermo en 1871-75". Y tan claro en los Reinos de España por las virtudes de las letras, y por las armas, por su nobleza antigua, por las grandes riquezas, y por las nobles conjunciones del matrimonio, la familia, que no es necesario, que luchas por decirle en este elogio, mientras que en la historia española se los ve vívidamente: se dirá solo de los Caballeros, que luego vinieron a Sicilia con el Rey Martín, entre los cuales esta familia.
