Antiga e muito nobre família portuguesa, de clara e ancestral virtude, conhecida por Rabelo, Rabello ou Abello, cujo ramo passou a residir em Espanha em tempos muito antigos de que então, no alvorecer do século XV, se instalou nobremente em a terra da Sardenha. Segundo o que nos é transmitido, o seu progenitor foi um Vasco Afonso, de Afonso Martins, que floresceu em Portugal no tempo de D. Sancho I. A Cristóvão Rabello, do Porto, foi fiel assistente de Ferdinando Magellano e com ele embarcou a bordo do "Crinidad", em setembro de 1519, testemunhando assim a descoberta das Filipinas. Quando chegou a estas ilhas, era o capitão do "Vitória". D. Rodrigo Rabello Falcão, natural da cidade de Lagos, era pai de Antônio Rabello Falcão, cavaleiro da Ordem de Calabravan, na qual ingressou em 1º de julho de 1645.
