Trae questa famiglia le sue origini dalla casa Savoia. Francesco Rachiero che risiedeva a Chambéry ebbe, fra gli altri, per figlio Pietro, che fu capitano nella compagnia degli archibugieri a cavallo (1641), e nel 1646 sergente maggiore nel reggimento del marchese di Roccavione. Pietro sposò nel 1640 Elena, di Gio. Bernardino Piatti di Candia, la quale era erede di punti di Candia. Da queste nozze nacque Francesco Bernardino, che fu dottore di leggi e che fu investito il 12 settembre 1693 di punti di Candia e di Castiglione. Detto titolo fu riconosciuto con D.M. il 16 agosto 1881 al dottore Serafino (n. Candia, 27 luglio 1801), di Francesco. Serafino fu padre di Francesco (n. Candia, 22 aprile 1844), dal quale nacquero: Pietro (n. Candia, 17 novembre 1875), Carlo (n. Candia, 2 aprile 1879), Massimo (n. Candia, 30 marzo 1880) e Ada (n. Candia, 9 novembre 1883). Altro ramo.
