Antigua y muy noble familia de Parma, sin embargo nacida de Reggio, de la cual tenemos noticias desde el siglo X quinto. Carlo estaba entre los ancianos de la ciudad en 1425 y Luca era canónigo de la catedral. En 1543 vivía un Antonio, que tenía para su esposa Lodovica, el conde Giorgio Malaspina, viuda de Gio. Agostino Olivi di Pontremoli y un Francesco vivieron en 1553. Se dice que un Raimondi, de Reggio, participó en Niza en un gran torneo. convocado por el emperador Carlos V, y ante el cual habían intervenido muchos caballeros de todos los lados, se distinguió mucho y logró tomar posesión de una calabaza, que era el premio de una carrera de torneo; el de su habilidad y distinción, Carlos V quería recompensarlo, colocando en su escudo, y en memoria de él, una calabaza, la puerta, que recuerda la cerca del torneo, y las iniciales
