Antigua familia de Verona, que tenía jurisdicción sobre los Lessini. Catalogado entre los principales de la ciudad desde el siglo XII. Se cree que es de origen lombardo. En 1279 ya estaba entre los más eminentes y desde entonces le había dado una podestà a Vicenza. Murió en 1361 y tuvo a su esposa Beatrice della Scala. La familia ha estado en la cima de la Municipalidad desde 1409 y no estaba entre los incluidos en la formación del Consejo, pero se le agregó en 1421. Tenía el Palatinado de la Santa Sede en 1640, y la rama actual tenía el título de conde de Ranuccio Farnese con diploma. 11 de noviembre de 1681. La familia está registrada en la Lista Oficial de Nobles Italianos con los títulos de noble de Verona (hombre y mujer) y conde (hombre), en la persona de Vittoria, Giulio, Alessandro, viuda del noble Costantino Ovio.
