The first news of this family goes back to the century. XIII, in which era Tommaso, Ceccolo, Battista and Suppolo da Ranghiascia appear. In a bull of Francis, bishop of Gubbio, of 5 April 1313 for the erection of the Confraternity of the Whites, the name of the aforementioned Baptist is read. The first of the Ranghiasci that we find invested with public office is Sebastiano, of Agostino, 6th consul in 1589, then again in 1595 and in 1602. After him exercised the consular magistrate Giovanni Domenico in 1601, and Giacomo four times, from 1636 to 1646. Sebastiano II, of Agostino, married Antonia Teresa in 1678 of the illustrious lineage of the Brancaleoni counts of Piobbico, and for this parentage his descendants added the said surname to their own, together with the coat of arms.
