Haute bourgeoisie de la ville d'Ardes. Ses membres sont qualifiés des seigneurs du Bladre, du Cendre, de Neschers, des Brandons (Auvergne), de Bellegarde, de Mariges, de Saint-André, barons de la Liègue, etc. (Forez - Lyonnais). Elle s'est divisée en deux branches dites: des seigneurs du Bladre en Auvergne et des seigneurs de Bellegarde en Lyonnais. Anoblie par des charges de trésorier de France (1617), de secrétaire du roi vers 1650 et d'échevin de Lyon (1694). Parmi les personnages les plus marquants de cette maison on signale: des conseillers du roi élus en l'élection de Brioude; un visiteur général des gabelles et des greniers à sel en Auvergne, Velay, Gévaudan; un lieutenant particulier en la sénéchaussée d'Auvergne; des conseillers en la Cour des Monnaies de Lyon, l'un d'eux victime de la Révolution. Nobles alliances. Eteinte fin du XIXème siècle avec la comtesse de Riverieux de Chambost.
