Famiglia oriunda da Pinerolo con memorie sicure dal secolo XVI, con Giovanni che fu investito di beni rustici il 26 ottobre 1546. Il pronipote di costui Gio. Michele (nato Pinerolo, batt. 4 gennaio 1590, dec. 1653 c.), di Filiberto, fu prefetto di Mondovì (1616) e senatore di Piemonte. Suo nipote Gio. Michele (nato Torino, 12 novembre 1654), figlio dell'avvocato Carlo Francesco, che ebbe la carica di senatore, fu qualificato conte. Da lui nacque, fra gli altri, Giuseppe Bonaventura (nato Torino, 18 novembre 1682, dec. 1758) che fu tenente generale, e governatore di Fenestrelle, Susa e Valenza. Il quintogenito di costui, Carlo Francesco (nato Pinerolo 13 luglio 1725, dec. ivi, 6 ottobre 1751) che fu capitano nel reggimento Pinorolo, sposò (1750) Gabriella del conte Pietro Antonio Audiffredi di Mortigliengo, dopo la cui morte, avvennuta il Torino il 26 agosto 1809, i discendenti assunsero il predicato di Mortigliengo che non potè essere
