Famiglia forlivese assai antica e nobile che ha partecipato alla storia di Forlì ed alle sue vicende durante i trascorsi, concorrendo non poco alla nobiltà e alle cariche istituzionali della stessa città. I nomi dei suoi componenti sono citati in molti testi, atti notori e contratti di vendita di terre e case fin da tempi molto antichi. Nella bibliografia "Giornale de letterati d'Italia" stampato nel 1712 al vol. 15 pag. 371 leggiamo "la famiglia Ravaldini, nobile ed antica della città di Forlì, trovandosi memoria fin nel 1247. di un Rinieri padre di Emma , la quale fu moglie di Filippo degli Oderlaffi, i cui discendenti ebbero la signoria della patria. Questa famiglia de' Ravaldini, non sappiamo, se abbia preso il nome, o se lo abbia dato ad un borgo della stessa città ovvero ad un suo castello". La "Storia della letteratura italiana" di G. Tiraboschi a pag. 83 cita
