Nom de famille d'origine portugaise. C'était son tronc Vasco Afonso, fils d'Afonso Martins, contemporain des rois Don Sancho I et Don Alfonso II. Vasco Afonso et Doña María Anes étaient les parents de Rui Vasques Rebelo, le premier à prendre ce nom de famille, car il était le seigneur de Casa Rebelo. Don Esteban R., natif de Lagos et Chevalier de l'Ordre du Christ, s'est marié à Lisbonne avec Doña María Correa, de qui il a eu : Don Rodrigo R. Falcón, né à Lagos, qui a épousé Doña María de Sosa et Alméida, un originaire de Lisbonne. Son fils Antonio R. Falcón, originaire de Lagos, était chevalier de l'Ordre de Calatrava, qu'il entra le 7 janvier 1645.
