Famiglia originaria di Fossano, con memorie sicure dalla fine del secolo XVI nella persona del capitano d'ordinanza Davide, che poi maggiordono del Duca di Savoia e lo seguì nella Spagna e nelle Fiandre. Suo contemporaneo e della stessa agnazione era il "nobile messere". Lorenzo, vivente nel 1576, padre di Baldassare. Costui procreò Tommaso, morto nel 1646 beneficando l'ospedale di Fossano: esempio seguito dai suoi figli, il can. Gianfrancesco (n. 1631) e il prefetto Silvio (1637-1712) e della figlia di costui, Maria Margherita (1675-1756), moglie del conte Giovenale Negri di Castelletto. Dal prefetto Silvio nacque, fra altri figli, Giovanni Silvestro, investito di Quittengo con titolo comitale il 31 maggio 1723. Ebbe numerosa prole, fra cui il conte Carlo Tommaso morto a 91 anni il 7 febbraio 1765, padre alla sua volta di larga figliolanza, fra cui il conte Silvio, morto a Fossano, il 21 maggio 1817.
