Arricchiti colla mercatura comperarono nel XVIII secolo nel territorio veronese un feudo col titolo di conte. Giovanni, avendo sposato una di casa Petrobelli, fu aggregato al Consiglio nobile nel 1780. Varie famiglie omonime si propagarono in diverse regioni d'Italia. Le notizie bibliografiche che ci vengono tramandate sono riconducibili a questa casata di cui ne abbiamo tratto nota. Antica ed illustre famiglia originaria di Correggio nel Modenese. Fu annoverata tra le famiglie nobili di Correggio. Altra famiglia alzò per arma. Una fascia, accompagnata in capo da tre stelle, ed in punta da un raviccio, con tre foglie, posto in palo. Fu costume delle più antiche famiglie, le quali dopo la caduta del Romano Imperio, in quella inondatione de' Barbari, havendo i loro cognomi, sicome gli studi, e altre cose belle smarrito e restati solo con semplici nomi, trarre di nuovo i loro cognomi, e il loro casato da' nomi proprii paterni,
