Este linaje aparece con gran esplendor entre la nobleza piamontesa, cuyos antepasados, que ya habían venido al Piamonte muchos siglos antes, han descendido, con su reputación preparada, de su camino honrado, entre las principales dignidades de la patria. Esta línea proviene del general Carlo (nacido en Fossano, el 23 de agosto de 1865), de Francesco, quien fue adoptado el 31 de julio de 1899 por su tío el conde Carlo Thesauro di Meano y adoptó el apellido De Rege-Thesauro.
