Essa linhagem aparece com grande esplendor entre a nobreza piemontesa, cujos ancestrais, que já haviam chegado ao Piemonte muitos séculos antes, descendem, com sua reputação preparada, de sua estrada honrada, entre as principais dignidades da pátria. Esta linha é originária do general Carlo (nascido em Fossano, 23 de agosto de 1865), de Francesco, que foi adotado em 31 de julho de 1899 por seu tio conde Carlo Thesauro di Meano, assumiu o sobrenome De Rege-Thesauro.
