Os reminianos eram senhores de Angennes em Perche, na França, desde o século XIII. Passados para a corte, possuíam posição e cargos eminentes, e detinham os senhorios de Brezolles, Marolles, Laupe, Tallemont, o barônico de Arquenai, o companheiro de vida de Mans. Por Luigi, o embaixador da França em Roma, Giuseppe-Eugenio chegou ao tribunal da Sabóia em 1647. Pietro-Eugenio, filho deste, em 1713 foi investido no condado de Villarbasse. Carlo Eugenio marcha. di Garrino e o conde de Villarbasse foram escudeiros da rainha Maria-Teresa. Alexandre, seu irmão, bispo de Alexandria em 1818, e depois arcebispo. de Vercelli em 1832.
