Familia antigua e ilustre originaria de Módena. Spaccini en su Crónica enumera a esta familia entre los nobles de Módena en 1543. Le pertenecía el famoso pintor Guido Reni, cuyo padre la trasplantó a Bolonia. Hoy no hay noticias de esta familia. Una familia ilustre e histórica al mismo tiempo, sin embargo, como dice Dolfi en su "Cronología de las familias nobles de Bolonia, con sus insignias y, al final, las crestas", impresa en Bolonia en Giovan Battista Ferroni en 1670, procedente de Bolonia.
