Apellido de origen inglés, del lugar de Reinshaw, Condado de Derby, en Gran Bretaña. Enlazó repetidamente con familias de la más alta nobleza de Tenerife, donde es conocido desde hace más de un siglo. Doña Emilia R. de Orea, nació en el Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife), el 26 de noviembre de 1860, y contrajo nupcias con Don Fernando de Torres y León-Huerta, nieto de los Marqueses de Santa Lucía, primogénito de la Casa y Mayorazgo del Tránsito. Su hermano Don Miguel, también nació en la misma villa el 25 de enero de 1865. Fue Caballero Cofrade de la Noble Esclavitud de San Juan Evangelista, y contrajo matrimonio con Doña Ana González de Mesa y Pérez de Chaves, el 31 de enero de 1885, dejando descendencia. Tuvo un hermano gemelo, llamado Don José, que abrazó la carrera eclesiástica. Otro hermano fue Don Francisco R. de Orea, Jefe y Pariente Mayor
