La familia, distinguida honorablemente, a través de los tiempos, en el poder judicial, en las armas y en las artes, descendía de ese Luchino Ravelli, de Busca, que floreció espléndidamente entre los siglos XVI y XVII, al servicio de la Casa Augusta de Saboya, que tuvo del duque. Carlo Emanuele I, el 3 de julio de 1600, el rango de abogado fiscal general. De esto nació Alessandro, doctor en derecho y propiedad general, que se casó con una Eleonora Ceaglio, cuya familia, en 1740, fundó una comandancia mauriciana. De Giorgio, quien, tras haberse mudado a los valles de Lanzo, se casó con Anna Maria Barra en 1677 y murió en 1729, la genalogía está rigurosamente probada hasta nuestros días.
