Second-born branch of the Ricardi family of Occhieppo Inferiore, who adopted the Ricardi handwriting. The progenitor is Giovanni, son of the notary Clemente. It was Giovanni father of Clemente, who from his wedding with Comina by Marcantonio Torre had Gio. Aurelio (born 1619), who was sergeant major of Biella and gentleman of the mouth of Prince Maurizio of Savoy. From these were born, among the others, Francesco and Federico.
