Familia oriunda de Calonge de Calaf, pueblo del partido judicial de Igualada, en la provincia de Barcelona. Se extendió por Cataluña, creando una de sus ramas nueva casa en Vilanova y la Geltrú, villa de la misma provincia. Otras pasaron a distintas regiones de España y a la isla de Cuba. El primitivo solar del linaje fue el castillo feudal del citado pueblo de Calonge, y sus señores eran patronos de la capilla de la Virgen María del Rosario, de la iglesia de Santa Fe, de Calonge, en la que tenían enterramiento propio. La nueva casa solariega que fundaron en Vilanova y la Geltrú es o era la señalada con el número 1 de la calle del Agua, de dicha villa. Del origen histórico de la familia R. hay escasas noticias, y principalmente se deben a las investigaciones realizadas por don Francisco de Nuix y de Perpinyá en los valiosos
